This project involved the renovating and remodelling of a tired, dilapidated two bedroom terraced victorian property into a fresh and desirable three bedroom home with rear extension, two upstairs bathrooms and a loft conversion.
We undertook a building survey to highlight construction and materials used, details of any defects found, their remedy and an indication of likely cost. Damp was detected and treatments organised to stop further decay. We undertook a measured survey of the building, providing a detailed set of floorplans, elevations and sections upon which proposed design alterations were based. We provided successful planning and building regs applications and issued the required party wall notices. A schedule of works was produced and competitive tenders received. We specified all materials and project managed the works up to completion through first fix, second fix, decorating and final snagging.
Additional space was created by remodelling and reconfiguring the internal arrangement with stairs repositioned. The remodelling allowed the introduction of a downstairs WC and a new infill side extension allowed space for an open plan kitchen diner. Space was also added by converting a dusty loft area into habitable accommodation. The roof and floor structure were re-designed and a new master bedroom with storage and an ensuite shower room introduced. Conservation grade rooflights brought in masses of light and allowed spectacular views over the South Downs National Park.
